Esther 1-5: Faithing Death

I put the bible face down on the couch totally buzzed after reading the last verse in chapter 5. there was so much to take in, to let seep in, in such a short number of chapters. The first passage that came to mind, when Esther was highly favored by all who saw her,  was from 1 Peter 3:3-4. Where it says: Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. 4Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight.

I held him, and will not let him go: Solomon 3-4

Solomon 3:1-4 By night on my bed I sought the one I love; I sought him , but I did not find him. 2 “ I will rise now ,” I said, “ And go about the city; In the streets and in the squares I will seek the one I love.” I sought him, but I did not find him. 3 The watchmen who go about the city found me; I said, “ Have you seen the one I love?” 4 Scarcely had I passed by them, When I found the one I love. I held him and would not let him go, Doesn't it feel good to be wanted enough that someone will go after you? Glory be to God! My heart is buzzing still, from my intimate hour with the Lord this morning. Hallelujah! I am giddy and enraptured with the overflow of God's presence. My spirit is light and refreshed, and charged. It's like an old song  that says :

Bible in a year: Read with us, AGAIN!

We are coming to the end of the bible in a year plan that we embarked on, but will start right back in Genesis again.  If you have followed us you may have noticed that we do not quite line up, as you can see, we are going into April. Well, when Kendra and I started our plan, it was in the middle of the year, yet we followed from the beginning of the plan. It was still awesome, how each word I read for that day, was for that Day and it was for me! Praise God. We use the plan indicated on the side bar to the right under "JOIN US!", by Michael Coley. I love how it has you in different parts of th bible a week, yet all of the passages line up in some way, and it is  slim chance of feeling overwhelmed in one book at a time ( esp those like Numbers : ).  We love feedback, welcome discussion, as what we write is what comes to heart when we read. What comes to your mind when you read? Right now we are here with the  Week starting on sunday: 2John Deut 26-28 Neh 10-13 Ps 143-145

Remembering: Psalm 143-145

As I read Psalm 143 this morning I am reminded to mediate on the works of the Lord and consider all that he has done( verse 5). It is good to recall what God has done for us, especially when we are in the middle of a test. It is so easy, just like the Israelites did in the wilderness, to quickly forget the miracles God , only recently performed in our lives, once faced with a new trial. Like Right now. In the beginning of this month, as usual, my husband sent  in our rent. normally, days later we get a receipt from our landlord with the receipt book, and everything is taken care of. After a few days we noticed something wasn't right.

Learning to Love Love himself

Whew!! It has been a while, and though I have been absent online, I have been present with the Lord. I hope you have been also allowing God to speak personally to you through his always relevant WORD. The internet was down this week. I took this week to fast and spend deeper, intimate, and quiet times with the Lord. Many nights this week I fell asleep in the corner of the couch , with a small lamp, mouth open, and the bible on my lap. I was and still am sooo hungry for God, and one thing I got from the Lord was that I have to be more focused on wanting and loving him for HIM, rather than  the things he can do for me. I mean I sat in the bed one night, asking God if this was even possible? Is not it a fact, that I am drawn to him because he died on the cross to save me. Do not I love God because HE first expressed his unconditional love for me? Is it wrong for me to love God because of the things he has done and can do?

What is my purpose?:Ecclesiastes 11-12

"Duck Wondering" by Chantel Dillard   After Solomon observes the living of life from as many viewpoints as he could, he comes to this conclusion: life is meaningless without God. The poor and the rich enter the same grave. If you save your money , you will never be happy, if you spend your money you will never be happy! So what is the point of it all? What is the purpose of life? Fear (Reverence) God and keep his commandments. There is the answer folks! Acknowledge God as God, and live according to the Bible. Now if only I could come up with dinner this simply.....

Word of God speak: 1 John 1-3

Sunday's passasge, 1 John 1-3 is rich in sound guidance from this apostle. It is a  timeless word for the children of God. I figured, it speaks for itself, so  click on the passage, read attentively , and let the Word of God speak to your spirit.
