In one week, it will be the eve of a long awaited day for many across the nation, and the world. Anticipation throbs in the air. Houses are being cleaned. Lists are being checked and rechecked. Travel plans are being confirmed, and menus are being finalized. Many intend to recognize and celebrate the coming of the newborn King. The bible tells of another day. A day so long awaited that no one even knows the date or time. A day that the whole world, the bible says, groans in anticipation of. In preparation, spiritual houses are being cleaned, lists are being checked and rechecked, and travel plans are being confirmed. It must be with great intention that  we recognize the promise fulfilled of the messiah in the form of a newborn King. It must be with even greater anticipation that we prepare for the second coming of the same, not new born, but the risen and glorified King of kings. For the Word declares he is more than just a baby born in a manger. He is the sinless one that took

That I might not sin against thee

Reading the Word of God is to be a constant. It's easy to neglect this act of worship in the hustle and bustle of our media saturated world. When we look at the things that are constant in our lives, some of them have no value compared to the Word of God, yet we still "find" time to incorporate them into our everyday lives. We fail to pray, but do not fail to play. Why? Our body is a constant reminder to the natural things.We need spiritual reminders. Just like it may seem children constantly need reminding of the same rule over and over, so we need reminding of the value of the Word. We need reminding to read the Word.  This month we are going back to the roots of this blog. I all started with a Bible Reading plan that, in order to be accountable, grew into blogging our daily reading along with our personal notes. I have already begun, but invite you , Our One Message readers, to join in reading the bible everyday, and join in the discussion of the scriptures. We
