That I might not sin against thee

Reading the Word of God is to be a constant. It's easy to neglect this act of worship in the hustle and bustle of our media saturated world. When we look at the things that are constant in our lives, some of them have no value compared to the Word of God, yet we still "find" time to incorporate them into our everyday lives. We fail to pray, but do not fail to play. Why?
Our body is a constant reminder to the natural things. We need spiritual reminders. Just like it may seem children constantly need reminding of the same rule over and over, so we need reminding of the value of the Word. We need reminding to read the Word.

This month we are going back to the roots of this blog. I all started with a Bible Reading plan that, in order to be accountable, grew into blogging our daily reading along with our personal notes. I have already begun, but invite you , Our One Message readers, to join in reading the bible everyday, and join in the discussion of the scriptures. We welcome and encourage your feedback, and questions and thoughts and opinions. This is a forum for learning and growing in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Here is a link to the Reading plan that we are engaging in through Youversion.com

I am excited!  I will be posting as daily as possible on the day's reading. So subscribing is your best bet to keep up. We don't have to wait til the beginning of the year to start. Let's start now!

Thy Word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against thee.- Psalm 119:11

Warmest thoughts and prayers,
Chantel

Mission: Christmas Blessing

Peace & love everybody! I've been so excited it's been hard to contain myself regarding today's mission! I hope that after reading this post, you'll be as encouraged as I am now! Known by most today as "the last Stalinist country" and according to VOM, "one of the most repressive and isolated regimes in the world", North Korea needs our prayers, monetary support, and volunteers. It's even being reported that a holocaust is occurring there as I'm writing this! Christians are being tortured, killed, and having "experiments" run on them all because they testify that Jesus is their Lord. Read a short synopsis of what Persecution.com has to say about North Korea and check out their related links. Thanks to our family over at The Voice of the Martyrs, we will be able to encourage and support our North Korean brothers and sisters! With our donations of $50 we will be able to sponsor a package that will have hard-to-get essentials, ...

Mark says, "I love to inspire people's lives with truth and humor. There are a lot of performers that make people laugh, and there are a lot of speakers who give solid principles for living. I want to do both...Our secular culture over-romanticizes marriage and our Christian culture over spiritualizes it. The reality is that relationships between men and women are very down to earth...Laugh Your Way to a Better Marriage® is about helping couples get it right, get along, have fun, and achieve a successful marriage." Build a defense in Judah: 2Chronicles 11-15

" This time I will Praise the Lord, so she named him Judah"- Gen.29:35 In our reading passage for today 2 things jumped out for me. First, 2 chronicles 11:5 tells us that Solomon's son, Rehoboam built defense cities in Judah. Their is safety and defense in praise, and it is the best thing to build a defense in. Psalms tells us that God inhabits the praise of his people ( Ps. 22:3) Second, one of the defense cities is Bethlehem. Bethlehem? A defense city, Who woulda thought, but then how fitting for God to make an appearance, in a defense built in praise. I thought it was cool. Share your thoughts!
