No More & No Less

No more no less Exodus 30:15 -"The Rich shall not give more, and the poor shall not give less than half a shekel, when they give an offering unto the Lord, to make an atonement for your souls" God is not out to oust us. It brought to mind the Shunamite woman in 2 Kings 4, who, upon having her child die in her arms, runs to the prophet Elisha. Elisha asks how everything is, and she replies, "It is well." Now we, the readers, hold our breath in amazement, because we know the truth, right? Your son is dead! We want to scream to the pages. How can you say, "it is well" ? Then there is the writer of the beloved hymn, who loses his fa
