Luke 5:4-5   Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught. 5  And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net. The Bible Series Here, Jesus just finished preaching a sermon from the hull of Simon's boat. Simon, however, was certainly not prepared for what Jesus would say next. Jesus was done speaking to the crowd, but now He was speaking a personal Word to Simon. "Launch out into the deep..." He says.  Jesus was right to expect that Simon, after hearing the Word, would respond by faith to his instruction.  The Bible Series Yet.... Ezekiel 3:22 22  Then the hand of the  Lord  was upon me there, and He said to me, “Arise, go out  into the plain, and there I shall talk with you.” Plain:  1 . not decorated or elaborate; simple or ordinary in character. 2 . easy to perceive or understand; clear. " 1 . clearly; unequivocally (used for emphasis). " noun 1 . a large area of flat land with few trees. Many  times it is necessary to clear away the clutter, for us to hear God's voice. This clearing comes in many forms. Whether through a period of fasting, or shutting out the saturation of  various media, or simply the daily pulling away to your "secret place" in private time with the Lord, being in the plains creates an atmosphere for unobstructed hearing of God's voice.   It's needful that we listen for God's voice in the plains that ...

Let's look at 2 Chronicles 34:19. What do you notice? At the Word, How do we respond- hardness and stubbornness and rejection, or meekness and repentance? Do we respond immediately, or do we take our time, responding when it's convenient? Josiah heard the Word and "rent  his clothes." (KJV) To rent means to tear, separate, divide. It is an act of repentance in the spiritual sense.  Sometimes separation is simple. Sometimes it demands us having to literally tear ourselves away from some things, people, and places.  Regardless, we must do what we must in order to walk in the light of the Word rather than the dark temporary pleasures the evil of the world has to offer. And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the  Lord  your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.    Who knoweth if he will return and repent, and leave a blessing behind him;- Joel 2:13-14a For th...

Psalm 116: 2 Because he bends down to listen, I will pray as long as I have breath! Isaiah 37:21-22 The Isaiah son of Amoz sent this message to Hezekiah: " this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: Because you prayed about King Sennacherib of Assyria, the Lord has spoken this word... God is very interested in  our prayers. He wants us to know we can depend on him. He wants us to depend on Him. And depend on Him, we must. In him we live and move and have our being. Acts 17:28. We exist because of God. When we pray He "bends down to listen" because he wants you to know he is dependable. When we pray he is moved with compassion to answer, because it builds our trust in who He is. When we pray, God speaks to our situation. He is the only one who can. Our prayers are never in vain. So P ray U ntil S omething H appens.

Isaiah 30:21 Your own ears will hear him. Right behind you a voice will say, "This is the way you should go," whether to the right hand or to the left. Have you ever asked the Lord for specific direction? I have. I've said the prayer once or twice, Lord it would be nice if you could just tell me  exactly what to do right now, and I'll do it.
