ONE Lord? ONE Faith? ONE Baptism???

1 Corinthians 10 1Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; 2And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; 3And did all eat the same spiritual meat; 4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ. I read this today and even until now, as I prepare to sleep, it has been on my mind. 1 Corinthians 10: 1-4 speaks of sameness and unity. They all passed through, they all were under, they all ate and drank of the same Rock, the Rock Christ Jesus. What unified them? They all escaped the plague of death by the same method- the application of the blood of the lamb (Exodus 12:3,7 & 13). They all were saved from the egyptians by the same source- passing THROUGH the water of the RED SEA (Exodus 14:29). They all were guided by the same thing- the theophany of God, his Holy Spirit mani...

Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path

Click. Push. Turn. Pull. Flick. Clap ( twice). We turn on and turn off lights countless times during the day. Or we open and close shades and curtains and blinds. Why? We need to see. Otherwise we'd stub a toe, bump a forehead in the bathroom door, or bump a hip in to the dinig table. Maybe. Or maybe we know our way around in the dark, only to find that the little one ( or the big one) left their skateboard in the middle of the walk way. Then there is the proverbial stuffed toy left on the third stair....

Be Ready! : Matthew 23-25

Matthew 23-25 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. 43 But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. 44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. What an admonition and reminder, to the church, the called out ones. In this same passage Jesus makes it clear, that in the time before this age comes to an end, that it will be difficult for even the solid believers. For their sake the days will be shortened, so they can make it from day to day. If the very elect, those on solid foundation and rooted in the word, producing fruit fit for the kingdom; if for them they will scarcely make it in, it causes us all to make sure where we stand. There is no room for "mights" and "maybes". The bible cautions believers and non believers alike to save ourselves from this gen...

Jesus the Great I AM : Isaiah 40-44

Isaiah 40-44 43:10 Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. 11 I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour. 12 I have declared, and have saved, and I have shewed, when there was no strange god among you: therefore ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, that I am God. 13 Yea, before the day was I am he; and there is none that can deliver out of my hand: I will work, and who shall let it? 14 Thus saith the LORD, your redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; 25 I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins. 44:2 Thus saith the LORD that made thee, and formed thee... 3For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring: The scriptures make it clear. No...

Our point of view: Job 15-16

We may have all been there. We get involved in a situation that causes some emotional pain and confusion. I have thought to myself, where an I wrong in this situation? Ready to humbly take the blame if necessary. Ready to take all fault. Then, in the need for clarity, and moral support, I go to someone who I think will understand, but, it backfires! They look at you questionably, point the finger at you, and denounce you for trying to seemingly "weasel" your way out of something they assume you really did do. They don't see your point of view. You leave even more emotionally torn and confused than when you came. You sought comfort and clarity, and left questioning yourself on you own innocence. Maybe I am to blame?

In righteousness I will see your face: Psalm 15-17

I am inspired by the boldness and confidence in many of the verses of this day's passage. In the 16th chapter of Psalms, David is confident in Jehovah, and knows that he will be ultimately delivered from the hands of his enemies simply based on the experiences from the past- testimony. Psalms 16:8 I have set the LORD always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. 9 Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure, 10 because you will not abandon me to the grave, nor will you let your Holy One see decay. 11 You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand. There are times when we face the valley- between- mountains ,but we have to bring the "mountain experience" back to remembrance. We must recall that " he will " and " he is ".

What is certain? Isaiah 12-17

Isaiah 12-17 God has not forgotten. God is just. God is love. God is merciful. These are the things that come to mind as I read the passage for the day. Many times there is no need for a deep revelation. God sends us his word to remind us of his character. We may never meet or know of an Assyrian, or Persian. The use of Babylon may be literal or metaphorical. What is certain and real, and unchanging is God's sovereignty and his character. God has not forgotten. The heaven is the Lord's throne and the earth is his footstool. He sits high and looks low and is cogniscent of everything that has and ever will happen. This includes our lives. God says vengeance is His, and if God be for us who can be against us. Just as God may use the enemy, as he did for Israel, to get your attention, the enemy still has to face their end. God is just. He is a righteous judge and makes the right decision every time because he knows all things. Some results may not make sense to us, but our knowledg...
