All things New! Revelation 21

Photo used from oneinjesus.info

I did not intend to get so emotional. Tears sprang to my eyes and joy quickened my heart as I read the 21st chapter of revelation. Yes, I have read it before. It appeals differently to me now, knowing that we are living in the end of the book. Amazing and exhilarating. The end of the book.

1 Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. 2 I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. 4 ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

5 He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”
6 He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life. 7 Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children.

No longer will there be a great divide between God's dwelling place and earth, because his dwelling place will now be among us- his children. It will be a new heaven and new earth, for it will be heaven on earth. The old order of things will have passed away!"He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”" Hallelujah!

I am claiming to be a victorious one. I am claiming you to be a victorious one as well. If you haven't already begun,  click here to start on your journey to victory over a life without hope or purpose. Let the Alpha and Omega make all things in your life new.

Technically we are done with the 52 week bible reading plan.
I say technically, because if you have been following for any length of time you may have noticed that the passage for the day did not coincide with daily bible calendars that started in January. We take ours from August to August, for June is when we ended our first read through in 2009. We picked up again from the beginning of the Daily bible reader in August of 2009 finishing our year in 2010. And started right back over. So Here we are August 2011. Wasn't that journey amazing?
No matter how many times we've gone through, it never gets old.

I have more reading to do to literally finish my log sheet. You can print one out for yourself here. There is a section of passages ( wks 32-39) I skipped for keeping up's sake that I am going to go back through.

Having said that I will continue blogging my reads when I get the chance. Subscribe if you haven't already so you can get an encouraging & inspiring bible study right in your inbox.
It's a journey that never ends. Be Blessed in the Lord.

Mission: Christmas Blessing

Peace & love everybody! I've been so excited it's been hard to contain myself regarding today's mission! I hope that after reading this post, you'll be as encouraged as I am now! Known by most today as "the last Stalinist country" and according to VOM, "one of the most repressive and isolated regimes in the world", North Korea needs our prayers, monetary support, and volunteers. It's even being reported that a holocaust is occurring there as I'm writing this! Christians are being tortured, killed, and having "experiments" run on them all because they testify that Jesus is their Lord. Read a short synopsis of what Persecution.com has to say about North Korea and check out their related links. Thanks to our family over at The Voice of the Martyrs, we will be able to encourage and support our North Korean brothers and sisters! With our donations of $50 we will be able to sponsor a package that will have hard-to-get essentials,

Earnestly contend for the Faith: Jude

Today's passage is Revelation 18-22, but here I am one book behind in Jude. I just wanted to spend some time in this one chaptered book. I love that the Word of God is LIVELY and ACTIVE, and, though never changing, it is always revealing. I got stuck on Jude verse 3. The words EARNESTLY and CONTEND, made me think, wow, we have to put up a fight for this thing. I read, and scribbled in my notebook as I went through. Here is what I wrote:

child logic: waitress vs. God

That sounds like something my 6 year old would say! Malachi 3:10-12 (King James Version) 10Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. 11And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts. 12And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the LORD of hosts.
