Revelation 3:5
King James Version (KJV)
5He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
I stopped after I read this verse. It dawned on me that our names are not written in the book of life as we progress through life on earth, for it was already there. Something must be already written to be blotted out.
Matthew 18:14
Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.
2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
So to him that overcomes, his name will remain in the book of life, as opposed to being blotted out.
The way we escape the blot, is to be live a life worthy of the blood ransom that was paid for our lives. The way we escape the blot, is by living like our name is already written in the book of life.
Ephesians 1:3-8
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. 4 For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love 5 he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— 6 to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. 7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace 8 that he lavished on us.
Each of us at the end of this age will be held accountable for everything we have done in this body, good and evil. What will be the result of your account?
A blot, or the blood?
