ONE Lord? ONE Faith? ONE Baptism???

1 Corinthians 10
1Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that
all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;
2And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
3And did all eat the same spiritual meat;
4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that
spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.

I read this today and even until now, as I prepare to sleep, it has
been on my mind.

1 Corinthians 10: 1-4 speaks of sameness and unity. They all passed
through, they all were under, they all ate and drank of the same Rock, the Rock Christ Jesus.
What unified them? They all escaped the plague of death by the same method- the
application of the blood of the lamb (Exodus 12:3,7 & 13). They all were
saved from the egyptians by the same source- passing THROUGH the water
of the RED SEA (Exodus 14:29). They all were guided by the same thing-
the theophany of God, his Holy Spirit manifested as a cloud by day and
a pillar of fire by night (Exodus 13:21-22).
All of this, Paul says, is for our example. To follow the right they
did, and to learn from their wrongs.

How does this apply to us today?Jesus prayed that believers would be one. Paul agrees with this
when in Ephesians 4:5, he declares there to be one Lord, one Faith, and
one baptism. It is Paul, in the passage from 1 Corinthians that
emphasizes that the Israelites were "all under the cloud, all passed
through the sea, and were all baptized unto Moses
."
As one family, under one God, we too should all be under the cloud,
the comfort and leading of the Holy spirit. As one body we too should
all pass through the waters of baptism, unto salvation, which for
Israel, Moses was. We too should all be redeemed from the curse of sin
through the application of blood- the blood of the lamb, Jesus, who is
the manifestation of God in flesh.
Now are we to kill a lamb? No, for God has already given the ultimate sacrifice, becoming the
pure and spotless lamb on the cross. Jesus says in Matthew 26:28, that
his shed blood is for the remission, or payment, for sins. Peter confirms
the words of Christ, using his same phrase in Acts 2:38, and says that
baptism in the name of Christ is for remission of sins.
Peter equates the shed blood of Christ to baptism in Jesus's name,
as they are both decreed as the remisison for sins. So the
application of the lamb's blood, is through the waters of baptism, in
the name of the lamb slain for our redemption. Acts 10:43 and Luke 24:47
also confirm that remission of sins, impossible without blood, is in
Jesus's name.

It is this name that unites us. This name given among men whereby
we must be saved, seals our sonship, and signifies our adoption into the
family of God. At the name of Jesus every knee should bow, and when we
are part of the kingdom of Christ, we are heirs of God, joint heirs with
Christ, reigning with him. On earth we respect royalty, and that
recognition and respect is extended to the immediate family- the
daughters and sons. If you are not part of the royal bloodline, then
expecting royal treatment is foolish.

Have you taken on the name of your Father, and been reborn, passing
through the waters, as if from a womb or watery grave, being baptized unto
salvation? Have you received the promise of God's Holy Spirit, dwelling
inside of you? Have you experienced (like the Hebrews of old) the fire to light your dark hours,
and the cloud to bring comfort on your lowest valleys?
Today is the day of salvation. Make sure you are blood washed and
sealed. For Paul says the Holy spirit seals us (Ephesians 1:13-14), and
without His Spirit we are none of His (Romans 8:9). You have turned your
back on sin, now let your proverbial "Egyptian slave-hold" be washed away, emerging
on the other side of the water, completely free. For whom Jesus sets
free, is free indeed.

Mission: New Tribes

Hi Family! We hope that your holiday was truly blessed! Not blessed with things  but blessings of fellowship, giving, and most importantly, love. I think we take for granted the opportunity to be surrounded by people who  actually  want to be around us and who want to invest in our lives in some way! Although our year is full of holidays of pagan origin, they are awesome times for the family of God to gather together and just love on each other! Also, I surely don't take holidays that my husband gets off of work lightly! Love....

Mission: Christmas Blessing

Peace & love everybody! I've been so excited it's been hard to contain myself regarding today's mission! I hope that after reading this post, you'll be as encouraged as I am now! Known by most today as "the last Stalinist country" and according to VOM, "one of the most repressive and isolated regimes in the world", North Korea needs our prayers, monetary support, and volunteers. It's even being reported that a holocaust is occurring there as I'm writing this! Christians are being tortured, killed, and having "experiments" run on them all because they testify that Jesus is their Lord. Read a short synopsis of what Persecution.com has to say about North Korea and check out their related links. Thanks to our family over at The Voice of the Martyrs, we will be able to encourage and support our North Korean brothers and sisters! With our donations of $50 we will be able to sponsor a package that will have hard-to-get essentials, ...
