The Revelation of Jesus Christ Part 2: The messenger

Part 2 Revelation Chapter 1: 1  The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants—things which must shortly take place. And He sent and signified   it   by His angel to His servant John,   2  who bore witness to the word of God, and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, to all things that he saw.   3  Blessed   is   he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time   is   near. There are a few things that stand out to me in this passage: 1.       The phrase, “Revelation of Jesus Christ”, is ambiguous. We can deduce that Jesus Christ is revealing something, yet we can rightly conclude that something is being revealed about Jesus Christ. We will touch on this more as we go further in our studies. 2.       The phrase -“God gave Him to show His servants” tells us: a.   ...

The Revelation of Jesus Christ: A Revelation Study Part 1

The Revelation of Jesus Christ The book of Revelation gives a great insight to the mystery of godliness. In it Jesus Christ reveals himself as God incarnate, but first some background. How is Jesus revealed? Through his Spirit. 1 Corinthians 2:7,10, 11b, 14 7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: 10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. 11b even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. 14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. Why is Jesus Revealed? Ephesians 3:19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness  of God. Jehovah’s desire has always been to dwell among us. From the days of ...

God in Christ

( When there is truth- all else must be reconciled to that truth, rather than the truth compromised to match the desired conclusion. ) Truth. All   scripture  is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: -2 Timothy 3:16 Truth. Hear, O Israel: The   Lord 1   our God is one   Lord 1 :.- Deuteronomy 6:4 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.- John 4:24 I, even I, am the   Lord 1 ; and   beside   me  there is no saviour. - Isaiah 43:11 Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the   Lord ? and there is no God else   beside   me ; a just God and a Saviour; there is none   beside   me .- Isaiah 45:21 And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy ...

Denying the Son?

21  I do not write to you because you do not know the truth, but because you do know it  and because no lie comes from the truth.   22  Who is the liar? It is whoever denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a person is the antichrist—denying the Father and the Son.   23  No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also.- 1 John 2:21-23 The word "deny" is defined as a "refusal to admit the truth or existence of [something]" ; "refusal to accept as true or valid"; refusing to give or grant  something deserved or desired to someone. Deny. To deny the Son is to refuse the truth of who the Son is. It is to refuse the validity of who the Son is. Simply put, when the Son of God is denied, one refuses God. When the truth of the Son is acknowledged, God is acknowledged.  How does one acknowledge the Son? By Believing Jesus is who he says he is. Yes, b y believing Jesus is who God says He is. "God, who at variou...

In Position to Receive

Mark 8:6 KJV And he commanded the people to sit down on the ground: and he took the seven loaves, and gave thanks, and brake, and gave to his disciples to set before them; and they did set them before the people. In order to be fed, they were commanded to sit. Can it be that we fail to receive from the Lord because we fail to humble ourselves? When we think we've learned all we can, served enough, and been fed enough, we can fall into the trap of the "I've arrived" mentality. Maybe your spiritual walk has stalled. Examine your heart. Is it in the position to receive? As children of God, we should never get to the point where we think we no longer need to learn of our Father. If we are not learning we are not yoked up with Him. If we are not yoked with God, we don't stand a chance of survival in this present age. Every  relationship of worth is characterized by continual learning of another. This continual learning deepens the bond. Being bonded or yoked ...

Why we MUST Gather

Mark 2:1-2 KJV And again he entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house. And straightway many were gathered together, insomuch that there was no room to receive them, no, not so much as about the door: and he preached the word unto them. So Why the gathering? Because the presence of God comes in the house at the gathering of believers. Matthew 18:20 Because we are healed in the gathering of believers. Luke 6:19 Because the Word is preached in the gathering of believers. Mark 2:2 Because we are commanded- for instruction, for edification, for encouragement- to gather even more as the day of the Lord approaches, with other believers. Hebrews 10:24-25 Because, consider a lone body part; we cannot, I repeat, cannot grow, separated from gathering with other believers. Ephesians 4:11-15 We MUST gather. Hebrews 10:24-26 CEV 24  And let us consider each other carefully for the purpose of sparking love and good deeds.   25  Don’t s...

The Big 180: Fruits of Repentance

Luke 3:7-14 NLT   When the crowds came to John for baptism, he said, ...Who warned you to flee God’s coming wrath?   8  Prove by the way you live that you have repented of your sins and turned to God. Don’t just say to each other, ‘We’re safe, for we are descendants of Abraham.’ That means nothing, for I tell you, God can create children of Abraham from these very stones.... 10  The crowds asked, “What should we do?” 11  John replied, “If you have two shirts, give one to the poor. If you have food, share it with those who are hungry.” 12  Even corrupt tax collectors came to be baptized and asked, “Teacher, what should we do?” 13  He replied, “Collect no more taxes than the government requires.” 14  “What should we do?” asked some soldiers. John replied, “Don’t extort money or make false accusations. And be content with your pay.” True repentance is more than a inside-the-heart feeling. It's an action of turning away from old ...
