Mark 8:6 KJV
And he commanded the people to sit down on the ground: and he took the seven loaves, and gave thanks, and brake, and gave to his disciples to set before them; and they did set them before the people.
In order to be fed, they were commanded to sit. Can it be that we fail to receive from the Lord because we fail to humble ourselves? When we think we've learned all we can, served enough, and been fed enough, we can fall into the trap of the "I've arrived" mentality. Maybe your spiritual walk has stalled. Examine your heart. Is it in the position to receive?
As children of God, we should never get to the point where we think we no longer need to learn of our Father. If we are not learning we are not yoked up with Him. If we are not yoked with God, we don't stand a chance of survival in this present age.
Every relationship of worth is characterized by continual learning of another. This continual learning deepens the bond.
Being bonded or yoked to Christ requires meekness, and following him. It requires submission to those he commissions to serve the flock. Notice Jesus gave the bread to his disciples to serve to the people. Those who were seated received.
Will you receive the bread of life?
"Take my yoke upon you and learn of me, for I am meek and lowly of heart; and you shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light"- Matthew 11:29-30
