...You see what he sees Genesis 21:19- It must have been there all along. Hagar walked away, and left Ishmael to die under a bush. She did not want to watch the death of her son, as he ached for thirst. She cried, and God responded to her broken heart. With the gesture of a loving father, he tells her not to cry. Then he opens her eyes and there is a well of water before her. Sometimes despair can cloud our vision. we are kept from seeing the victory that was before us all along. When we walk in a desert long enough, we are convinced the well of water we see must not be real. Psalm 2:11-12 NLT Serve the LORD with reverent fear, and rejoice with trembling. Submit to God’s royal son, or he will become angry, and you will be destroyed in the midst of all your activities— for his anger flares up in an instant. But what joy for all who take refuge in him! The lord dealt with me this morning in prayer about complete surrender. We love to tell the Lord he is in control of our lives. I want the lord to be in control of every part of my life. Or do I? There is one part of my life that I had to admit I want to control. I don't want to let it go. I don't want to surrender because it feels good to indulge. I failed to realize that if God is not in control of all, he is not in control at all- at least as far as my entire life is concerned. I am fearful of giving it up to the lord, because I feel I will no longer enjoy such an enjoyable thing as- I'll say it now- eating food. I like to tell myself that it does not have a negative spiritual impact ...

There is a river that runs from Genesis to today. It is a river running red. Adam and Eve experienced the power of it when an animal was slain to cover their shame. And it ran RED. Abel and Cain experienced it when they sacrificed unto Jehovah, and only the one was accepted; for it ran RED. Noah and his family experienced it when it washed away the world of sin, and gave way to a fresh new start. Still it ran RED. The Hebrews experienced it's power of salvation and separation  when it shrouded them from the enemy, parted to reveal a way of escape, and overtook the bondage they endured for years. It ran RED. Forty years later they would finally cross the Jordan River, and come to a city on the outskirts of Canaan called Jericho. Again spies were sent out, to survey the land.
