Understanding after Obedience: doing the great thing

2 Kings 5:10-11, 13-15 And Elisha sent a messenger unto him, saying, Go and wash in Jordan seven times, and thy flesh shall come again to thee, and thou shalt be clean.    But Naaman was wroth, and went away, and said, Behold, I thought, He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of the  Lord  his God, and strike his hand over the place, and recover the leper.    And his servants came near, and spake unto him, and said, My father, if the prophet had bid thee do some great thing, wouldest thou not have done it? how much rather then, when he saith to thee, Wash, and be clean?    Then went he down, and dipped himself seven times in Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God: and his flesh came again like unto the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.    And he returned to the man of God, he and all his company, and came, and stood before him: and he said, Behold, now I know that there is no God in all the earth, but in Israel...

God lovingly instructs. We grudgingly resist because we do not understand why it has to be so particular. Why not another way God? Why did you come as a baby and not make a kingly grand stand? Why, as in Naaman's case, this river and not the seemingly better ones? Why baptism in your name God? Why glossalalia as evidence of your Spirit in me?

It's simple. God is Jehovah. Jehovah is all knowing. Jehovah is all powerful. Jehovah is ever present. Jehovah is ever merciful. It's safe to obey Him. Whether his Word is written  2 Timothy 3:16 , through his messenger Luke 10:16, or his own voice John 10:27, obey Him, and you will be saved. Revelation and understanding always follows submission and obedience in God's way. Obey him and suddenly you will understand his ways. For he makes his ways known to his people. 1 Corinthians 2:9-10. Luke 24:45 Job 32:8

Psalm 119:100 I understand more than the ancients, because I keep thy precepts.
Psalm 119:104 Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way
Psalms 11:10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments:

Mission: Christmas Blessing

Peace & love everybody! I've been so excited it's been hard to contain myself regarding today's mission! I hope that after reading this post, you'll be as encouraged as I am now! Known by most today as "the last Stalinist country" and according to VOM, "one of the most repressive and isolated regimes in the world", North Korea needs our prayers, monetary support, and volunteers. It's even being reported that a holocaust is occurring there as I'm writing this! Christians are being tortured, killed, and having "experiments" run on them all because they testify that Jesus is their Lord. Read a short synopsis of what Persecution.com has to say about North Korea and check out their related links. Thanks to our family over at The Voice of the Martyrs, we will be able to encourage and support our North Korean brothers and sisters! With our donations of $50 we will be able to sponsor a package that will have hard-to-get essentials, ...

I want to do both...Our secular culture over-romanticizes marriage and our Christian culture over spiritualizes it. The reality is that relationships between men and women are very down to earth...Laugh Your Way to a Better Marriage® is about helping couples get it right, get along, have fun, and achieve a successful marriage." Build a defense in Judah: 2Chronicles 11-15

" This time I will Praise the Lord, so she named him Judah"- Gen.29:35 In our reading passage for today 2 things jumped out for me. First, 2 chronicles 11:5 tells us that Solomon's son, Rehoboam built defense cities in Judah. Their is safety and defense in praise, and it is the best thing to build a defense in. Psalms tells us that God inhabits the praise of his people ( Ps. 22:3) Second, one of the defense cities is Bethlehem. Bethlehem? A defense city, Who woulda thought, but then how fitting for God to make an appearance, in a defense built in praise. I thought it was cool. Share your thoughts!
