There is blessing in generosity: Proverbs 22

There is so much in the proverbs, and each chapter is packed to the brim with wise words. Chapter 22 is no exception. These are the verses that jumped out to me as I read through.

1.Rich and Poor have this in common: The Lord is the maker of them all - Prov. 22:2 (NIV)

Now how about that for a ground leveler, huh? Your material things will not exalt or debase you in the eyes of God. So don't sweat it if you don't get that designer something this Holiday.

2. A generous man will himself be blessed, for he shares his food with the poor.- Prov. 22:9 (NIV)

This is good to remember when you think twice about giving when you had the initial heart and mind to do so. Remember if it is according to the word of God, it is the voice of the Lord speaking to you to give. Do not hesitate. Hesitation gives room for the flesh to analyze, and reason away what God has spoken to you to do, and gives room for the enemy's blinding deceit as well.Go ahead, give a little, or give a lot.

3.Do not be a man who strikes hands in a pledge or puts up security for debts; if you lack the means to pay, your very bed will be snatched from under you. - Prov.22:26-27

Well this here is wise indeed. It may be tempting, it may seem "christlike", but again, the enemy has a way of twisting the Word of God into a lie. Do not be deceived. David said he has never seen the righteous forsaken, and if our ways are committed to the Lord HE WILL, not might, but WILL give us the desires of our heart. Sooooo.... don't in this hub-bub of holiday shopping, sign for what you do not have the money for- for yourself or someone else. Sounds smart to me.

So on an Ending note , my prayer for the children of God

Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. (3 John 1:2, New King James Version)

Mission: Christmas Blessing

Peace & love everybody! I've been so excited it's been hard to contain myself regarding today's mission! I hope that after reading this post, you'll be as encouraged as I am now! Known by most today as "the last Stalinist country" and according to VOM, "one of the most repressive and isolated regimes in the world", North Korea needs our prayers, monetary support, and volunteers. It's even being reported that a holocaust is occurring there as I'm writing this! Christians are being tortured, killed, and having "experiments" run on them all because they testify that Jesus is their Lord. Read a short synopsis of what Persecution.com has to say about North Korea and check out their related links. Thanks to our family over at The Voice of the Martyrs, we will be able to encourage and support our North Korean brothers and sisters! With our donations of $50 we will be able to sponsor a package that will have hard-to-get essentials, ...

Holy Nation | Peculiar People

What makes believers different from the world? Not the "do'"s and "don't do's". Not the "wear and "don't wear"- and certainly not status, money, or influence. So what distinguishes believers from the rest of the world? Holiness. Holiness is not a practice that allows me to come to God. If I may, I propose the opposite! Holiness is the result of us drawing near to God. He allows this because of the ransom of blood that was paid, and the veil that was torn, to grant us access to His throne.  In order to draw near to Him, I must be first be covered by the blood of Jesus. This is achieved through repentance, and baptism in the name of my kinsmen redeemer- Jesus Christ. In short, I don't practice holiness to experience God. His grace brings me salvation which brings me near to God. My nearness to God makes me more like Him- Holy.

Mission: Water4Christmas

Hi all! It's Missions Monday!! I get so excited! Truly! While on Beautiful Mess-Psalm 40 's blog, I was touched so deeply by her post on Water For Christmas! It's definitely a cause to support! We have all kinds of gadgets, movies, CDs, and gift cards that are all just distractions waiting to be bought and given this Christmas holiday. But there are over a billion of people all over the world who don't have access to clean water! Ridiculous! We're dying and killing ourselves over debt but our brothers & sisters are dying because of lack of clean water. Water has so many more  uses besides just drinking! Charity:water  says that the average American uses 150 gallons of water a day while the average person in a developing country struggles to find 5 gallons! This is what charity:water says to the question "Why water?" U nsafe water and lack of basic sanitation cause 80% of all sickness and disease, and kill more people every year than all forms of...
