Mission: Rahab Ministries

Welp! It's another Monday and unfortunately I have another mission to share with you all! Oh the day when there won't be a need for missionaries, charity, and outreach projects! We can't even wrap our minds around the fact that'll be of never needing - I mean really never needing anything. Amazing! Revelation 21 and 22 talk of a new order where God will live with us and supply all of our needs. All we're going to want to do and need to do is adore Him! Hallelujah! If that doesn't motivate you to glorify Jehovah with your lives, I don't know what will! With this eagerness, we need to dedicate more time to testifying of the goodness of the Lord and sharing His vision with our dying world.

The other day, Chantel and I were talking about witnessing and how we don't give nearly as much time to doing it as we should be. She explained how she felt the Holy Spirit urging her to make going out every day in order to witness a priority. It didn't matter where she was or where she was going, with a determined mind and a heart focused on pleasing God, the Holy Spirit would lead her to someone who needed to feel God's love! Incredible! She's done this repeatedly and has seen the power of God in her encouraging! Now imagine if she had just shrugged off the Holy Spirit's urges and decided to do something else instead? What would become of those she testified of the love of Jesus to? When we realize that every second of our lives is truly not in vain but have a kingdom purpose, we'll value our interactions that much more! Now, sometimes Chantel said she would just walk up to people with a word of encouragement and others she met by way of a common interest such as in the grocery or walking through her neighborhood. But, her obedience is definitely to be commended! So inspiring!

Witnessing, purposely and intentionally, is the theme for today's mission feature:

This is another awesome ministry that'll appreciate our support in the forms of prayer, volunteer, and donation. Based in Thailand, the staff of these ministries utilize Friendship Evangelism as their means of witnessing and as a catalyst for restoration. Rahab workers frequent their local bars in order to befriend Thai prostitutes. They believe that by simply being a friend and showing they care for them, these prostitutes will see the love of God and want to embark on a healthier lifestyle while following after Christ. Rahab Ministries is aiming to put a dent in,if not aid in eradicating, International prostitution and Asian woman and child trafficking. It doesn't stop there! Because most prostitutes of Patpong and Nana Soi 4, areas of major sex tourism,  came into this lifestyle because of poverty and lack of education, Rahab ministries provide safe, transitional housing, work with Rahab Bazaar, provide daycare, teaching and counselling, and sponsor education! Glory to God! And bars aren't the only places Rahab workers witness! They even have a beauty salon where they have anywhere from 20 to 40 clients a night preparing to go to "work." They also have an Internet Cafe and an English Language program! This ministry is really working, building the Kingdom! We thank the Lord that Patricia Green was obedient to God's call in 1989!

You've gotta hop on over to Rahab Ministries' site and see the vision God gave them! Stay encouraged family; live blessed!

Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field."

I remember hearing it said "If I be lifted up on the earth I'll draw all men unto me." We must do the lifting by magnifying God- literally making him bigger to the eyes of those who can not see him, and making it easier for those with blinded eyes to recognize God. When our lights shine before men, they see our works, and God gets the glory and the recognition. We have to be on our toes to be verbal as well as living witnesses.

I am blown away at the way God is being magnified ( made bigger) so the women in thailand who feels there is no hope, will know otherwise. Awesome.

Mission: Christmas Blessing

Peace & love everybody! I've been so excited it's been hard to contain myself regarding today's mission! I hope that after reading this post, you'll be as encouraged as I am now! Known by most today as "the last Stalinist country" and according to VOM, "one of the most repressive and isolated regimes in the world", North Korea needs our prayers, monetary support, and volunteers. It's even being reported that a holocaust is occurring there as I'm writing this! Christians are being tortured, killed, and having "experiments" run on them all because they testify that Jesus is their Lord. Read a short synopsis of what Persecution.com has to say about North Korea and check out their related links. Thanks to our family over at The Voice of the Martyrs, we will be able to encourage and support our North Korean brothers and sisters! With our donations of $50 we will be able to sponsor a package that will have hard-to-get essentials,

Earnestly contend for the Faith: Jude

Today's passage is Revelation 18-22, but here I am one book behind in Jude. I just wanted to spend some time in this one chaptered book. I love that the Word of God is LIVELY and ACTIVE, and, though never changing, it is always revealing. I got stuck on Jude verse 3. The words EARNESTLY and CONTEND, made me think, wow, we have to put up a fight for this thing. I read, and scribbled in my notebook as I went through. Here is what I wrote:

At the end of the day (and the beginning!)...

Just 5 more minutes of sleep without interruptions from the kids, my handsome husband beside me when I wake up, surprised that he took off a day just to give me a break, more than $0.75 in change scattered around my purse, my kids to be satisfied with everything I do for them for ONE WHOLE DAY, no crying or whining, to make it a day without a single, broken dish, dinner done on time, kids to bed on time and they stay there until morning and wake up rested, ...seriously, this list can go on & on! Does your's sound similar? Do you have a list of "If onlies"?
