Bless the Lord O My soul! : Psalm 102-104

Psalm 103: 8-14

The Lord is merciful and gracious,
Slow to anger, and abounding in mercy.
9 He will not always strive with us,
Nor will He keep His anger forever.
10 He has not dealt with us according to our sins,
Nor punished us according to our iniquities.

11 For as the heavens are high above the earth,
So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him;
12 As far as the east is from the west,
So far has He removed our transgressions from us.
13 As a father pities his children,
So the LORD pities those who fear Him.
14 For He knows our frame;
He remembers that we are dust.

I was overwhelmingly thankful when I read Psalms 103 and was reminded that the Lord knows our frame. He knows that we are but dust. His mercy is great toward us because of this.

We tend, however, to forget that we are dust, and beat ourselves up when we mess up and do not measure up to our own expectations.Yet the almighty, all knowing, ever present God, does not hold these things over our heads the way we do.

Now, this is not to say, we should sin that grace may abound, as Paul put it, but we can rest assured that God's grace is sufficient for us; that he will not put more on us than we can bear; his strength is made perfect in our weakness; greater is he that is in us than this worldly flesh on the outside; he will always make a way of escape from our temptations; if we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness; and a righteous man falls seven times, yet he gets back up.

Bless the Lord Lord O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name! ( Psalm 103:1)

Are we seriously HUMBLED when we read a Psalm like this one????
No, we should not practice a life-style of sin, but hallelujah His grace is sufficient for all our failures and His mercy is boundless!
God bless,
and thank-you for your comments as well! Deeply appreciated. Janet

Mission: New Tribes

Hi Family! We hope that your holiday was truly blessed! Not blessed with things  but blessings of fellowship, giving, and most importantly, love. I think we take for granted the opportunity to be surrounded by people who  actually  want to be around us and who want to invest in our lives in some way! Although our year is full of holidays of pagan origin, they are awesome times for the family of God to gather together and just love on each other! Also, I surely don't take holidays that my husband gets off of work lightly! Love....

Mission: Christmas Blessing

Peace & love everybody! I've been so excited it's been hard to contain myself regarding today's mission! I hope that after reading this post, you'll be as encouraged as I am now! Known by most today as "the last Stalinist country" and according to VOM, "one of the most repressive and isolated regimes in the world", North Korea needs our prayers, monetary support, and volunteers. It's even being reported that a holocaust is occurring there as I'm writing this! Christians are being tortured, killed, and having "experiments" run on them all because they testify that Jesus is their Lord. Read a short synopsis of what Persecution.com has to say about North Korea and check out their related links. Thanks to our family over at The Voice of the Martyrs, we will be able to encourage and support our North Korean brothers and sisters! With our donations of $50 we will be able to sponsor a package that will have hard-to-get essentials, ...
