Mission: Secret Believers

Bless the Lord you guys! Thanks to the Holy Spirit, Chantel and I have been encouraged by 2 Corinthians 12:9 which says "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness!" We truly received that word and that's why we're bringing the Mission for Monday on Tuesday! Praise the Lord with us for His bringing us through our weaknesses and trials of Monday that we can fellowship with you today!

Do not let unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.
Ephesians 4:29

The scripture above came to mind when I stumbled upon this week's mission. It reminds us to watch what we say and how we say it at all times because not only is it not becoming of a child of the King to joke coarsely or have inappropriate conversation but also because we must make every opportunity to communicate an opportunity to kingdom-build. But have you ever considered the people around who you're not conversing with? The lady behind you and your husband in the Walmart when you two are having a disagreement? Or, the guy pumping gas on the other side of the pump as you're yelling abrasive comments to your children? Or, even the little girl or boy in your kids' class walking behind you on the way to your car? You truly don't know where they are spiritually or if at that precise moment, they were needing encouragement! But how timely it would be that at that moment in their lives when they needed encouragement the most it came from a believer who intended their words for someone else! That's all it takes! Even better, what if they were a believer also, needing just a word to sustain them through the persecution they face at home because of their faith?

Well, I've been extremely excited about bringing you this week's mission!

Secret Believers!
This ministry began after a man named Brother Andrew wrote a book called Secret Believers: What happens when Muslims Believe in Christ. In his book, he tells personal accounts of those who are a part of the Church in hostile and terrorist Muslim countries. Although their names have been changed for their protection, their stories enlighten Christians everywhere of the plight of our brothers and sisters and compels us to help them, encouraging them to fight the fight of faith. His extraordinary work with the globally persecuted church led to the creation of Open Doors International.

Open Doors International is a ministry that works with persecuted Christians  in over 60 countries! Through its many offices set up all over the world, Open Doors raises awareness of persecution through education and media and also campaigns for prayer. This ministry needs our help! With our donations, they can provide Bibles and other Christian literature to secret believers, Christian training, safe houses for fugitive converts, rebuilding, restoration, and much, much more!

Walk in Their Shoes
This outreach of Open Doors is a great way to play a part in helping secret believers everywhere! You just simply need to purchase a pair of "Walk in Their Shoes" shoelaces! That's it! Your purchase will support the cause and remind you of our persecuted family. It'll even be a great conversation starter and a witnessing tool! I can see this outreach being extremely popular among Christian teens out there! So what are you waiting for? Go check 'em out yourself!

Mission: Christmas Blessing

Peace & love everybody! I've been so excited it's been hard to contain myself regarding today's mission! I hope that after reading this post, you'll be as encouraged as I am now! Known by most today as "the last Stalinist country" and according to VOM, "one of the most repressive and isolated regimes in the world", North Korea needs our prayers, monetary support, and volunteers. It's even being reported that a holocaust is occurring there as I'm writing this! Christians are being tortured, killed, and having "experiments" run on them all because they testify that Jesus is their Lord. Read a short synopsis of what Persecution.com has to say about North Korea and check out their related links. Thanks to our family over at The Voice of the Martyrs, we will be able to encourage and support our North Korean brothers and sisters! With our donations of $50 we will be able to sponsor a package that will have hard-to-get essentials,

Earnestly contend for the Faith: Jude

Today's passage is Revelation 18-22, but here I am one book behind in Jude. I just wanted to spend some time in this one chaptered book. I love that the Word of God is LIVELY and ACTIVE, and, though never changing, it is always revealing. I got stuck on Jude verse 3. The words EARNESTLY and CONTEND, made me think, wow, we have to put up a fight for this thing. I read, and scribbled in my notebook as I went through. Here is what I wrote:

child logic: waitress vs. God

That sounds like something my 6 year old would say! Malachi 3:10-12 (King James Version) 10Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. 11And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts. 12And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the LORD of hosts.
