Psalm 84-86 (NKJV)
Psalm 85:11" Faithfulness springs forth from the earth, and righteousness looks down from heaven." (NIV)
Psalm 85:11 " Truth shall spring from the earth and righteousness shall look down from heaven" (NKJV)
Righteousness is accounted for without a doubt- God has that covered. But what of faithfulness? Where in the earth can God count on that to spring forth, especially from an earth which seems to resound with more and more evil everyday? I remember a passage I read recently where God was questioning if he will still find the faithful on the earth when he returns. ( Luke 18:8)
When I look at the earth I realize that the sun and the moon are faithful to the laws that God set for them from the begining of time; the plants and the trees still follow the course that God set for them;even animals- the birds, insects, fish, mammals, reptiles, etc.- follow the course. All of creation it seems remains truthful to God's purpose, except God's greatest earthly creation- man.
Yet, as God shared with Elijah in 1 Kings 19, God has reserves. There are the "7,000" that have not bowed to Baal, the god of this world. Are you one of the faithful? One of the truthbearers? Or are you "halting between two opinions" not sure if God is who he says he is?
When Jesus returns I want him to find us as one of the faithful. You are not alone.
"Do not grow weary in well doing, for in due season we will reap of we do not faint" (Galatians 6:9)
Jesus is coming back sooner than soon, and the faithful will rise- will spring forth!- as the scripture declared. Then all of us with our brothers and sisters can hear the glorious words : "Well done thou good and FAITHFUL servant, enter now into the joy of the Lord". (Matthew 25:21) AMEN!
