Toeing the line?

Ephesians 5:6-7, 11 KJV

Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. Be not ye therefore partakers with them. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

Are we allowing ourselves to be deceived by vain words? Is the person we are being deceived by none other than ourselves?
What have we convinced ourselves is ok? And according to what standards are these convictions?

Time is too far spent for toeing the line between worldliness and godliness.  It is the season, if there ever was one, that our no is no and our yes is yes. With fear and trembling is how we are to work out our own salvation; with fear and trembling, or in other words, extra-carefulness. We can not afford to take chances with so great and precious as this salvation.

What lines have you grown comfortable with toeing or even crossing? Spend some time with the Lord today asking him to show you where you may be too close to the "stove". If you need strength, the Holy Ghost is available to empower you to separate yourself from the world.  Make your calling and election sure with Christ, for he has made his sure choice in you.

Warmest thoughts and prayers,
Chantel

Mission: Christmas Blessing

Peace & love everybody! I've been so excited it's been hard to contain myself regarding today's mission! I hope that after reading this post, you'll be as encouraged as I am now! Known by most today as "the last Stalinist country" and according to VOM, "one of the most repressive and isolated regimes in the world", North Korea needs our prayers, monetary support, and volunteers. It's even being reported that a holocaust is occurring there as I'm writing this! Christians are being tortured, killed, and having "experiments" run on them all because they testify that Jesus is their Lord. Read a short synopsis of what Persecution.com has to say about North Korea and check out their related links. Thanks to our family over at The Voice of the Martyrs, we will be able to encourage and support our North Korean brothers and sisters! With our donations of $50 we will be able to sponsor a package that will have hard-to-get essentials, ...

all we need , is in Him

Colossians 2:8-10, 12 KJV Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. sin nailed to the cross - image from web Philosophy, traditions, and all the other ways man uses to try and  understand God can only get us so far- if anywhere at all. Sometimes fooling with the newest method and the trendiest biblical insight, or perspectives, takes us in circles. The surest way to learn God, and to get understanding of His Word is through the Holy Ghost. 1 Corinthians 2:11 tells us that only the Spirit of God can know the things of God. And everything that is God, can be found bodily in Christ. In Christ we a...
