A way that seems Right

from debrapauli.com Joshua 9: 8-15 And they said unto Joshua, We are thy servants. And Joshua said unto them, Who are ye? and from whence come ye? 9  And they said unto him, From a very far country thy servants are come because of the name of the  Lord  thy God: for we have heard the fame of him, and all that he did in Egypt, ... 12  This our bread we took hot for our provision out of our houses on the day we came forth to go unto you; but now, behold, it is dry, and it is mouldy: 13  And these bottles of wine, which we filled, were new; and, behold, they be rent: and these our garments and our shoes are become old by reason of the very long journey. 14  And the men took of their victuals, and asked not counsel at the mouth of the  Lord . 15  And Joshua made peace with them, and made a league with them, to let them live: and the princes of the congregation sware unto them. John Bevere wrote a book titled "Good or God", that...

Understanding after Obedience: doing the great thing

2 Kings 5:10-11, 13-15 And Elisha sent a messenger unto him, saying, Go and wash in Jordan seven times, and thy flesh shall come again to thee, and thou shalt be clean.    But Naaman was wroth, and went away, and said, Behold, I thought, He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of the  Lord  his God, and strike his hand over the place, and recover the leper.    And his servants came near, and spake unto him, and said, My father, if the prophet had bid thee do some great thing, wouldest thou not have done it? how much rather then, when he saith to thee, Wash, and be clean?    Then went he down, and dipped himself seven times in Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God: and his flesh came again like unto the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.    And he returned to the man of God, he and all his company, and came, and stood before him: and he said, Behold, now I know that there is no God in all the ear...

The Integrity of a true Worshipper

The Reading God's Story Bible Plan reading journey has taken us to the book of Job. God's sovereignty and Job's faithfulness are brought into major focus. Our finite understanding of God and his doings is made obvious. Job constantly in his complaint, keeps the perspective of a praiser. He holds to his integrity. "The Lord gives and takes away- blessed be the name of the Lord" Job 1:21. His closest companion, his wife,  points out the lack of logic Job expresses through his response to submit to God and say "Yes" to Him, though he "slays him".  Job 2:9. Job remains steadfast. In his pain, in his agony, in his grief- Job responds with worship.  Worship unto God is the outward expression of our love for him. Worship unto God says we value you highly. We value you this much- enough to live out our love for you. Worship is not situation-based or provision-based. Worship is love-based. Worship is relationship-based. Worship is not about a p...

Reviving the soul

Psalm 19: 7 Not one jot, accent mark,  or dot is without strategic purpose in the inspired, written Word of God.  Just as carefully as salt is measured for a recipe,  the same of which too little or too much can destroy the goodness of a dish,  the words of the Word are so measured. This perfectly meted Word,  revives,  or brings life back,  to the soul.  The King James version says it converts the soul. See, the Word of God does this work.  The Word converts the soul- whether little by little for some,  or a miraculous about face for others.   The soul is changed. The Word is perfected for this purpose.  It brings dead back to life. Nothing is out of the reach of the perfect Word of God. With constant application of the Word of life,  something is bound to change. Warmest thoughts and prayers,  Chantel

A Soft Heart

I wanted to share something I read and shared years ago: Bind the Word to your heart Do you notice how easy it is to get a hard heart? God's value system is so often in direct contrast to the values of our world. God knows that our hearts will be pulled in directions away from Him. He also knows that when we go with that pull we will find our hearts hardening. We will become aware of a nagging sense of dissatisfaction and impatience with life and with those around us. He cautions us... "See to it, brothers, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness" (Hebrews 3: 12 & 13). Many times we don't even notice the hard crust that settles around our heart. We compromise in "little" things and think it won't matter. Yet for the believer, there is inner frustration when we allow things ...
