Christmas and miracles

Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray,  believe  that ye  receive  them, and ye shall have them.- Mark 11:24 *image from web* There are many heartwarming stories of unfortunate circumstances that are miraculously turned around during this time of the year.  Many a Hallmark Christmas movie is themed around the whole idea of miracles and Christmas- stopping short of course of the miraculous entrance of Jehovah embodied in full authority and power in the most ironic vessel of a baby.   But what of this- this phenomenon when the miraculous seems to be more easily accomplished in this holiday season? Has God held back his power to manifest it uniquely during this time of the year? Jesus Christ the  same   yesterday , and to day, and for ever.- Hebrews 13:8 For I am the  Lord , I  change   not- Malachi 3:6a According to the word of God, no.  Then what has changed? Th...

The Revelation of Jesus Christ Part 7: The Lion and the Lamb

Part 6 of our "Revelation of Jesus Christ" Study  took us to chapter 4; it declared the creator of Heaven and earth to be none other than Jesus Christ- Jehovah our Salvation. We last see John in heaven gazing upon ONE being on the throne. This being is God himself, [Revelation 4:8], who is being worshiped by beasts and elders. Chapter 5 continues from this scene. And I saw in the right  hand  of Him who sat on the throne a scroll written inside and on the back, sealed with seven seals. 2  Then I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the scroll and to loose its seals?”  3  And no one in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll, or to look at it. What do you observe here? A. there is a HIM sitting (alone) on the throne B. HE (alone) is holding a heavily sealed scroll ( 7 seals to be exact) C.An angel (curiously described as strong) poses the question about worthiness to open the...

Divine Expressions

The title of this post provokes varying lines of thought. If you would, let's venture on a train of thought that begins with the word "express". Being the lover of diction, syntax, and linguistics, the word express presents itself in my mind as "ex"  and "press". I want to know the meaning for the parts, both singularly and combined. Definition of  ex 1 :   out of  :    from : as a   :   from a specified place or source Definition of  press 4 a   :   an action of  pressing  or pushing  :    pressure With this in mind we can gather that the word express depicts an action of pushing out from. When we make a facial expression our emotions are pressed out of our mind onto our face. When we say someone's art is an ex-pression of their feelings or their perspective, we are essentially looking at their feelings pressed out of themselves onto the tangible medium. ex·press ...

The Alpha: ALEPH

Alpha.  The word itself brings to mind the number, one. It denotes one who is in the lead, in charge, first in line. Alpha is the first letter of the Greek  alpha bet.  In Hebrew it is, instead of Alpha, pronounced Aleph. The Hebrew language is unique in that each letter carries more weight than we'd customarily ascribe to any single letter in the English language.  The closest analogy, if you may,  could be the letter "A". It is both a letter in relation to other letters, but is a stand alone word- an article implying quantity of one. In a much deeper way however,  a single letter in the Hebrew aleph-bet  carries great meaning.  Consider ALEPH : "The letter Aleph is the 'father' of the Aleph-Bet, whose original pictograph represents an ox, strength, and leader. Its numerical value is one ( and also 1,000) and is a silent letter. Aleph therefore is preeminent in its order and alludes to the ineffable mysteries of the oneness of God." ...
