A way that seems Right

from debrapauli.com Joshua 9: 8-15 And they said unto Joshua, We are thy servants. And Joshua said unto them, Who are ye? and from whence come ye? 9  And they said unto him, From a very far country thy servants are come because of the name of the  Lord  thy God: for we have heard the fame of him, and all that he did in Egypt, ... 12  This our bread we took hot for our provision out of our houses on the day we came forth to go unto you; but now, behold, it is dry, and it is mouldy: 13  And these bottles of wine, which we filled, were new; and, behold, they be rent: and these our garments and our shoes are become old by reason of the very long journey. 14  And the men took of their victuals, and asked not counsel at the mouth of the  Lord . 15  And Joshua made peace with them, and made a league with them, to let them live: and the princes of the congregation sware unto them. John Bevere wrote a book titled "Good or God", that...

The Doctrine of the Established Word

Luke 16:16-17 The Word: One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that he sinneth: at the  mouth   of  two  witnesses , or at the  mouth   of  three  witnesses , shall the matter be established .- Deuteronomy 19:15 But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, t hat in the  mouth   of  two or three  witnesses  every word may be established. - Matthew 18:15 This is the third time I am coming to you. In the  mouth   of  two or three  witnesses  shall every word be established. - 2 Corinthians 13:1 Well I'd consider that an established Word, wouldn't you. There it is, not one, not two, but three times. ESTABLISHED.   The Application: If we want to confirm new testament doctrinal truths, consider the amount of times it has been repeated in the Word. Wait, does this mean if it is written only once, we are n...

Because you prayed

Psalm 116: 2 Because he bends down to listen, I will pray as long as I have breath! Isaiah 37:21-22 The Isaiah son of Amoz sent this message to Hezekiah: " this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: Because you prayed about King Sennacherib of Assyria, the Lord has spoken this word... God is very interested in  our prayers. He wants us to know we can depend on him. He wants us to depend on Him. And depend on Him, we must. In him we live and move and have our being. Acts 17:28. We exist because of God. When we pray He "bends down to listen" because he wants you to know he is dependable. When we pray he is moved with compassion to answer, because it builds our trust in who He is. When we pray, God speaks to our situation. He is the only one who can. Our prayers are never in vain. The Integrity of a true Worshipper

The Reading God's Story Bible Plan reading journey has taken us to the book of Job. God's sovereignty and Job's faithfulness are brought into major focus. Our finite understanding of God and his doings is made obvious. Job constantly in his complaint, keeps the perspective of a praiser. He holds to his integrity. "The Lord gives and takes away- blessed be the name of the Lord" Job 1:21. His closest companion, his wife,  points out the lack of logic Job expresses through his response to submit to God and say "Yes" to Him, though he "slays him".  Job 2:9. Job remains steadfast. In his pain, in his agony, in his grief- Job responds with worship.  Worship unto God is the outward expression of our love for him. Worship unto God says we value you highly. We value you this much- enough to live out our love for you. Worship is not situation-based or provision-based. Worship is love-based. Worship is relationship-based. Worship is not about a p...

FIG leaves are not enough

"It seems that many of us today are spiritually settling."  Satan has convinced us that the voice of God is enough. Adam and Eve ate of the tree of knowledge of good and evil and could still hear and recognize God's voice. Genesis 3:8 Yes, they heard God's voice. What they were suddenly robbed of was the presence of God. The presence of God is where there is fullness of joy and pleasures evermore. Psalm 16:11 But we have settled. We have become OK with half joy and fleeting pleasures. We have convinced ourselves that as long as we hear God's voice we are okay. But the scriptures in 2 Timothy 3:5 warn us of this way of thinking. Good idea, but what did God say? " They tried to use a natural solution for a spiritual problem.  They gave up their liberty to be in God's holy presence." In Genesis 3 Adam and Eve chose self gratification over obedience and suddenly felt uncovered. They were naked all along before they disobeyed their Fathe...

Peace on Earth

"...And his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. " ( Isaiah 9:6) As the angels sang glory to God in the highest, the lyrics to their chorus included "peace on earth, good will to men." With the birth of the savior into the world, the prince of peace introduced himself to humanity. In the Hebrew, the word for peace, Shalom , indicates more than what we generally attribute peace to be. It is more than just a quietness or an absence of confusion. Peace represents wholeness and completion. So when the angels sang of peace on earth, they were telling us that with Jesus comes wholeness and completion. Immanuel, God with us, ushered in peace personified, manifested as one of his own creation. When we truly find Jesus, we find a peace that is beyond natural understanding. It is a peace that the world can not comprehend, yet is available to all. This is why he came -in the humblest of beginnings- to give us p...

Which was, and is, and is to come ( All in his Plan)

Much of Isaiah 53 is written in past tense. For example Surely he took up our pain      and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God,      stricken by him, and afflicted. 5  But he was pierced  for our transgressions,      he was crushed  for our iniquities; the punishment  that brought us peace  was on him,      and by his wounds  we are healed. 6  We all, like sheep, have gone astray,      each of us has turned to our own way; and the  Lord   has laid on him      the iniquity  of us all. It's like it happened before it happened, for, this prophecy was given thousands of years before the manifestation of Jesus Christ on earth.  Isn't that amazing? The book of Revelations refers to "the lamb slain before the foundation of the world". This means, the plan was already performed in the r...
